Apparently what's commonly available on DVD is a chopped-up re-release, missing about 20 minutes from the theatrical version. Anybody know where to get a copy of the original version? I can use either VHS or DVD.

Though not always PC, I dig seeing any actor tackle ethnic roles, Robert Downey Jr. in Tropic Thunder made that film. So while Burt as a Mexicano would not fool most, he was still great. Have to agree with you about the finale,
it was fitting, not always easy or popular pulling off something ambiguous, leaves many unsatisfied, but some of my favorite films are like this (Carpenter's The Thing for example).

I recently got hold of a VHS version, but it's the same length as the DVD - 1 hour 31 minutes. I love this film. Even if Burt doesn't really cut it as a Mexican as well as an Hispanic actor would have. I love the ending.
