it's weird… Caan, Pacino and Brando all quit show biz at around the same time, and basically the same reason, burnout, and then returned around the same time… the early 1980's… for Brando it was 1980 to 1990, for Caan it was 1982 to 1987 (ironically it was Coppola he returned to), for Pacino it was, basically, when he was doing Revolution which turned out a kind of non-film for his resume but nothing else was done until Sea of Love, 1989… and both Pacino and Caan both had comebacks, especially Caan with Misery… Pacino was more or less a living legend but Dick Tracy actually did give him a nomination… and Brando just got larger, and somehow, richer, no matter what he did…
