Is this sacrilegious? Everyone seems to be a huge fan of Dern's performance in this film and I understand why. However I would love the idea of seeing Hackman in this film. It would be great to have him as Jack's older brother playing off each other as very different characters. He would be a bit older but not that much. Would he be a convincing romantic lead with the two women? I don't know but women are always attracted to charismatic men and he's supposed to be a conman.

I would have switched the roles between Jack and Bruce… Still wasn't a good movie. 5/10
