This film was also done during a time in history when cigarettes and smoking were thought to be healthy! Doctors were convinced it was a cure-all for many different sorts of ailments including asthma and even stuttering! (Tho the belief of stuttering is further back in history during the reign of King George in England in the early 1940s: See "The King's Speech") so of course smoking on planes and anywhere in public was condoned as being perfectly normal and fine. Weird huh?
