"You miss. Turn over. This ain't no board of directors meeting."

This movie had quite a few great lines, but my favorite is, "I intend to smoke one over everyone of their dead bodies." I might be paraphrasing, but you know the line I'm referring to.

" Since I was a kid all I wanted to do was rob banks"
" Have all that money, and have folks know who I am, with a picture of my face on all the post office walls!"

"I've got my own way of taking banks. I come in shooting, I kill everyone inside and I grab the dough. Very easy, it works very well. You don't like it, you get someone else."

"I admit, I have sinned; I have been a sinner, but I enjoyed it. I have killed men, but the dirty sons-of-bitches deserved it. The way I figure it, it's too late for no Bible. Thanks just the same, Ma'am."
"It's a joke. We'll laugh about it in the car."

All these lines are incredible. Truly a memorable film.

Purvis: Wanna see my badge? (pause) I'll bet you'd like to see my gun.
Kid: Yeah!
Purvis: Unh, I got to unload it. Not that I don't trust you, but if something happened, I'd always think of you when I looked at a little boy.
Kid: You got a little boy too?
Purvis: No, sir. I'm like you, I don't have any. Now hold it. How's it feel?
Kid: Feels heavy.
Purvis: When you grow up, it won't feel heavy. You'll have one just like it. You'll have a badge, too.
Kid: Wouldn't wanta be a G-Man.
Purvis: Well, why not?
Kid: Have ta go to school to be a G-Man.
Purvis: Well, you gotta go to school!
Kid: John Dillinger don't go to school.
Purvis: John Dillinger's in jail!
(Kid bites lip, gives surly look, waves goodbye and walks away quickly. Cut to Dillinger, as he finishes carving wooden gun in Crown Point jail.)

Omg lol, what about the best line in the movie?
Dillinger just got done doing some crazy sh!t (I think it was after he ESCAPED PRISON WITH A BAR OF SOAP! lol) or robbing some banks, shooting it out with cops. Then when the guy is getting away with Dillinger in the back, John is like:
"What the hell's wrong with you, ya crazy?!?! You're driving is gonna get us killed! 30-40 mph is just fine".
lol.
I'm always like; did you just ask HIM if he was crazy?!?! I don't think the driving is gonna be the culpret.

When Dillinger is busting out, the guy in the garage at the jail looks at him and goes "It's you! You're HIM!" That always struck me as hilarious. Another one that I liked was in a scene that followed that, when the guy ran after the car and shouted "Mr.Dillinger! Mr. Dillinger! Take me, too! I wanna be a Bank Robber!"

The whole cast was spot on, the new re-make has some way to go before it'll beat the 1973 classic

Yes, his whole part at the end was good. I've never been a HUGE Dallas fan, but I've always liked Steve Kanaly, and I think he was one of the most convincing actors in Dillinger.

I also liked when Pretty Boy Floyd was mortally wounded and says to Purves, 'I was glad it was you'

Yes, definitely. And the whole IDEA of him treating his HOSTAGES as ACCOMPLICES!

Not so much as best lines, but when Dillenger tries to split the money from his raid with the mechanic and bank manager, and the bank manager takes his cut and says 'well, times are hard' before wishing Dillinger well.

Harry Dean Stanton got all the best lines:

3. if you don't speed up (or was it slow down) i'm going to put one right in the back of your GD head!
4. what's a man supposed to do?

I loved that line from Homer Van Meter (HDS) "Things ain't workin' out for me today"right before the townsfolk surround him and blast him in the middle of the street. Pretty harsh violence for it's time period if you ask me.
