<p dir="auto">I would bet that seventy grand in depression era dollars is almost the equivalent of a million dollars today.<br />
Considering that at this time men were working long hard days for a dollar, that was almost twenty years wages, at that time.<br />
I think it would have behooved him to go to Mexico or points beyond.<br />

<p dir="auto">He and his gang (membership varied) netted some decent takes for the times.  The Central National Bank of Greencastle, Indiana got them over $75,000 alone.  High living and always being on the run went through it pretty fast.</p>
