I saw this movie when I was little, growing up in Chicago, IL on the Kukla, Fran and Ollie show in the 1970's. I think I was around 8 or 9 when I first saw it, and I fell in love with it! But for some reason, I don't remember it having sub titles, but I could be mistaken, or maybe it was dubbed, don't know. All I know, is that from time to time over the years I would try to find it, but with no luck. First of all, I did'nt even remember from what country it was orginally from! But thanks to the internet, and the memory of the three magical hazel nuts, I FINALLY found it! It's just as magical to me now, (being a 40 something adult woman!), as it was to me back then! And I don't mind the sub titles, even if they are not exactly "prefect". I like the fact that this Cinderella is strong, independent and smart. Not wimpy like the "traditional" version I grew up with.

Cinderella as an expert hunter is novel and refreshing. Just watched the restored digital version and it's amazing how beautiful and romantic is the film without being sentimental or nauseating. The court dance scene was funny and bawdy!
Ever tried, ever failed?
No matter.
Try again, fail again.
Fail better.

I couldn't agree more! I saw this on a list of Christmas movies and decided to check it out. Not quite sure how it got on the list (a lot of snow, but no Christmas), but I'm glad I watched it. Very enjoyable!

Yes, I recall it too (haven't tracked it down though). A lovely film, rich with beauty and humour, and Cinderella looked oooh so pretty (in the first half of the film especially, when she's still "plain dressed")
They don't even know the multiplication tables: all they know is how to multiply themselves!
