<p dir="auto">Its been years since Ive seen it so i thought I would watch it again.. cracked up. when he first addresses his troops after being elected Sheriff, the radio squalks he goes to speak on the mic and you can see the boom microphone in the shot coming dwon from above..<br />

<p dir="auto">The movie was shot uncropped, meaning that more of the top and bottom of the frame appears on a square TV screen than it would on a rectangular theater screen.  TV viewers see the mic, moviegoers did not.</p>

The picnic was not necessarily at Christmas.  Factually, Buford and Pauline were ambushed in August of 1967</p>

<p dir="auto">I agree.  I'm from southwest Louisiana and the grass is brownish and the trees are bare, so I can imagine what it's like as far north as Tennessee.</p>

<p dir="auto">Exactly.  There's no green grass or green leaves on the trees in West Tennessee around Christmas.  I've always thought that was pretty silly.</p>
