Does everyone remember how no one was ever convicted of mudering Buford's wife because they were all found mudered themselves?
A big theory is that Buford was involved in exacting revenge upon these men-but never proven.
I am writing a screenplay about how would Buford have gone about the task of discovering who these men were, and how he would have taken them out one by one. The perfect revenge movie.
I want this movie to be not some cheesy cheap piece of crap, but a dark, violent, very well acted movie of one man's passion for getting rid of those who got rid of his wife.
Any ideas on a movie title?

Good luck on that. If it ever sells, let us know how things are after your script gets torn apart and rewritten by idiots who know nothing about good story-telling.

I would prefer that to another one with The Rock or Kevin Sorbo as other characters.
The first R rated movie I ever saw was the original "Walking Tall" because I had seen the TV spot and liked Joe Don Baker. I assumed that when I grew up I would end up looking like him. I was right. I was 7 at the time and my father had passed away a couple of years before so my mother took me and covered my eyes during the violent parts. She thought she was making a mistake taking me to see the movie as she thought I'd be influenced by some stick wielding redneck who bopped anyone who looked at him the wrong way. But even at the age of 7 I still knew it was about a man who had strong convictions and didn't look the other way under any circumstances. that would end up being a blueprint for the way I would end up living my life.
When I was in High School, I had written a screenplay for a remake that would tell the entire story accurately. They sort of jazzed up some stuff and combined characters. My screenplay also dealt with his past as a Marine and Professional Wrestler. I also had written a sub-plot of a war with the Ku Klux Klan as I figured he must have ruffled a few feathers when he appointed a black deputy.
I read about a year ago that Buford's daughter was writing a book about him and had supported the remake with The Rock in exchange for consideration for a movie about the real exploits of Buford Pusser that would be more character driven. I truly hope this film get made. But I'm affraid that someone like Bill Paxton or Matthew McConnaughey will end up playing him.
I also remember in 1987 there was going to be a movie called "Walking Tall : The Ultimate Walk". It was planned around the same time as another movie called "The Return Of Billy Jack". Neither of them had seen the light of day.
So let's hope that Dwana gets her way.

I was under the impression that there have been 5 Walking Tall movies made. The 1st 3 are available in a box set Bo Svenson starred in part 2 & 3 the 1st starred Joe Don Baker. These movies were a more accurate account of what really happened. The 4th installment was with The Rock a good movie However it had nothing to do with Buford Pusser nor what happened in Selmer Tn. It was a decent movie that would have been better served with a different title. The 5th so called Walking Tall starred Sorbo and was truly an unwatchable piece of crap that had NOTHING to do with what really took place. Brian Dennehy also played Buford pusser in the made for TV movie A Real American Hero, Bo Svenson also played Pusser in 7 episodes of the short lived TV show Walking Tall.

Part 2 has already been released, but it's straight-to-DVD.
It stars Kevin Sorbo and it's awful.
As well as the third which, they started shooting immediately after the 2nd.
The 3rd also stars Kevin, and if the 2nd is any clue as to how the third will be, I wouldn't be looking forward to much. But you can get both on DVD in the next few months, I'm sure, if you're THAT interested. But I'll just go ahead and tell you it's a waste of money.
It's continuations like this that make me lose faith in the movie industry

I thought it was a decent movie-I lock The Rock-but I wish they had not used the Walking Tall name. I believe it gives younger people the idea this movie describes what happened in Tennessee in the 60's and early 70's.
I actually did like Walking Tall II. I had not heard of a remake of this movie. I do not remember, but did WTII go into the deaths around the country of the four people in the car the night the Pusser's were ambushed? ( I know one was killed in Texas and one in Boston).
Any idea when part 2 will be released?

Walking Tall Part2 The LKegend of Buford Pusser, the same as the Bo svenson movie where he extracted revenge on his wife's murderers.
I have heard they're going to do Walking Tall2 with Kevin Sorbo.
What did you think to the remake with the Rock?
