I'm seventeen and since I've been around comedies like "Grown Ups" and "The Hangover" and other stupid beep have come out. Now I'm not a huge comedy fan to begin with, I'm more of an action, horror and. mostly Quentin Tarantino fan. However this, The Blues Brothers, Monty Python And The Holy Grail and a few others from the 70's and 80's area are great. Thats my rant for the day.

A 17 year old who likes Blazing Saddles and hates Grown Ups? There's hope for the younger generation yet!
I thought I was one of the younger fans of Blazing Saddles at age 32, but I was way off by 15 years.
AndGrown Ups is absolutely awful at any age. I honestly didn't think it was possible for somebody to like Blazing Saddles and Grown Ups. That's like saying you love to eat kobe beef and potatoes for dinner on Wednesdaysand a leather boot and potatoes on Friday. It doesn't happen.

Cox-Rocker; Not a fan of Grown Ups, but huge fan of Blazing Saddles. By the way, if you have not seen it yet, and you don't mention it so I'm guessing you have not seen it, please find and watch the movie "Airplane". This movie is my second favorite comedy of all time, just behind BS.

If you haven't already seen it, Cox, view Brooks' Young Frankenstein; you may like it as much as Blazing Saddles. Also great are Tarantino's Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown thrillers both, with a lot of heart.

I think I've seen "Modern Times" and "City Lights." Sadly, I've never seen 1992's "Chaplin" with Robert Downey Jr. Only pieces. Every time it comes on I miss it, or just catch the end. And it seems like it's never on HBO, Showtime, etc

I forgot which one it was, but I have seen a Chaplin film myself and quite enjoyed it. And I have too tried to get friends to watch Blazing Saddles and only one of them enjoyed it but oh well. Reservoir Dogs was the first Tarantino film I saw and it's still a favorite of mine.

You have good taste for 17. I first saw this around 20-22 I guess and I've been saying it is probably one of the greatest comedic film ever. So for close to twenty years I've tried to turn others to this gem and most took to itsome just don't "get it." I'm glad other younger people don't automatically not watch something just because it's "old." I never took that attitude when I was in high school, not after seeing The Godfather and other great films. I've even grown an appreciation for Chaplin films, and wish they were on TV more.rare to catch one. Never thought I'd like a silent film! I have nothing against "The Hangover" but it can't hold Blazing Saddles jock strap, so to speak. Don't forgot about "Airplane!"
Reservoir Dogsmy fav. Tarantino film!

Well, your parents raised you correctly! I have 2 boys, 20 & 22, & they've been fans of all those movies since they were 10! Any Brooks movie, MP & the Holy Grail one of the funniest ever, and others make today's comedies look like complete hack jobs.

Grown Ups is NOT garbage. It isn't the greatest ever, but if you are old enough to have seen Blazing Saddles in 1974, then you should appreciate what Grown Ups was saying. Lost youth, adult responsibilities which can be crushing, kids not appreciating what they have, connecting with dear friends who you now don't get to see or talk to often.
Grown Ups 2 blew chunks, but Grown Ups was a good comedy. No, it will NOT stand up the way Blazing Saddles does, but that was not the intention of Grown Ups.

Your taste in comedy is quite sophisticated. Grown Ups is indeed garbage; all of the films you lauded are enduring, hilarious classics.
Cheers!

You are too young to appreciate "Grown Ups." Give it 20 or 25 years and you'll see it through a different set of eyes.
