For me it's the blind hermit scene. I laugh every time. In fact, I'm so bowled over by this scene, I can't watch the "straight" original version anymore without doing an MST3K on it while it's running. I laugh as soon as I hear the violin playing. Sorry, Mr. Karloff it's Peter Boyle's and Gene Hackman's fault for being way too funny.

'The 3rd [did I call it '2nd?'] Policeman' is a novel; never was made into a film. By Flann O'brien (sp?). I highly recommend it. If you want weird MOVIE content, you can't do much weirder than 'Cars That Eat People,' which I also recommend.

As for the Brits, my son has a few pals from there and they stayed here for a couple weeks. VERY different sense of humor from us "Yanks"! But we had a blast. Ya, that train station scene is a riot!! I cracked up so hard. I mean everything is!!!

A friend from England came to the US to visit, once, and we spent some time watching my favorite comedies. I couldn't get so much as a giggle out of him until we were watching YF. The ENTIRE scene with Gene Hackman! OMG, I laugh so hard each time I see it! The soup. The coffee mug breaking with the look on "the monster's" face! and the final line (which I use here!) I was gonna make Espresso! Dear Lord, perfection!

There are so many but I'll go with the "What knockers!" scene. Inge's grin and "thank you, Doctor" is the perfect response.

You'd think my favourite scene would have changed between seeing it in the theatre first-run at the age of 10 and today, but no:

I love pretty much the entire movie, and would never begrudge anyone their opinion of the funniest scene, but I would suggest that the scene in the laboratory from the moment the monster first awakens to the arrival of Inspector Kemp is a strong contender for one of the funniest scenes in cinema history, not just this movie.

My son and I text funny quotes to each other from this movie all the time. Helps break the monotony of the workday. There are so many funny scenes/lines in this movie.

I like it when Frederick gets ticked off about the Monster not coming to life and starts choking him and beating on its chest. As he is being dragged off, Igor looks at us and says, "Quiet, dignity, and grace." He is being sarcastic because Frederick had just said that before he went nuts and then didn't believe it.

"Footshteps, footshteps, footshteps!" Don't know why but I LOVE that part. And totally agree with the bookcase, ovaltine and "Roll, roll, roll in ze hay!"

In Stranger Eons

Personally my favorite moment is when we are first introduced to Inga in the back of the wagon
"Roll, roll, roll in zee hay! Would you like to roll in zee hay with me? It is fun!"
