I'm sure most people will say the Puttin' on the Ritz scene. That's my favorite, but there is another scene I love. I love the scene where the Monster wakes up and starts speaking to the villagers. He makes that whole speech and I thought it was a really nice touch how they included the line "In my loneliness I decided that if I could not inspire love, which is my deepest hope, I would instead cause fear." For such a funny movie, I found this scene to be very touching and dramatic. Peter Boyle did a really great job making that speech.

Now that you've asked, I think I've decided that the Gene Hackman sequence is overall my favorite. To begin with, the choice of Hackman, of all people, is alone hilarious, then Brooks' takeoff on the classic original Frankenstein sequence is perfectly comical.

3-way tie. Kemp's initial appearance (lighting his cigar at the fireplace), the entire Harold scene and every Feldman scene throughout.

My favourite part is when inspector Kemp is addressing the village meeting and nobody can figure out a word he says. I'm sure it's not everyone's favourite but that guy just cracks me up. 'Wallowing in his Grandfadas vootshteps, vootshteps, vootshteps'
I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time Del Boy, it's them that started me drinking!

It begins with "Nice hopping" and ends staring into Gene Wilder's eyes as his keening hum rises.
Every time a group discusses the best part it goes the same way many posts have.
I love x.
Yeah, but what about y.
Oh yeah, that was hilarious. What about z.
She was great there, but what about
It truly is among the funniest films ever made, but in a traditional sort of way. There will never be another movie like "Young Frankenstein". Comedy today is different. Like the Cohen Brothers, "O Brother, Where Art Thou" cracks me up, but "The Big Lebowski" leaves me cold.

The little girl's line is "What should we throw in now?" (this was after she and the Monster throw flower petals into the well) I love that scene, too, as well as the one with Dr. Frankenstein and Frau Blucher that you mentioned. Interesting tidbit about that one: According the various behind-the-scenes features on the DVD, Gene Wilder kept killing takes by laughing, which made Cloris rather annoyed. I've always thought that was funny, seeing as how it's supposed to be the other way around in the scene (with the annoyance, I mean).
