The overall rating for the show is an 8.3, however, ratings for individual episodes range from a low of 7.3 to a high of 8.2.

Probably some people vote on individual episodes, while others vote on the overall show. Maybe some people vote on both. They might rate each individual episode on things like plot, creative ending, and supporting cast, while the score for the overall show would be based on how they enjoyed Jim Hutton's and David Wayne's acting or something.
