This movie shows that the choice of location can more than make up for what is obviously a no-budget film.
The sea coast settlement where this was shot makes this one of the most atmospheric films (horror or otherwise) I have ever seen.
I have often thought that before writing/directing 'Night', Amando De Ossorio probably watched 'Straw Dogs' and 'Wicker Man'. His movie contains a lot of similarities to those two fine pictures.
Certainly the best of the Blind Dead sequels.
Never the less a flawed film, the casting of 'Teddy' being the worst mistake! (He is annoyingly similar to the 'village idiot' character who appeared in 'I Spit on your Grave')

This movie takes excellent eerie and unsettling atmosphere out of its isolated seaside hamlet. The shots of the Knights Templar riding horses in slow motion in particular are genuinely striking. 7 out of 10 from me.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.

There was a similar "village idiot" character like Teddy in each of the four Blind Dead movies except for the third one "Ghost Galleon" because it had a smaller cast and took place mostly at sea. De Ossorio must have liked that type of character.

Yup, awesome location indeed.
Watch Fulcis " Don't Torture a Duckling " too!
Now that movie has an awestruck village in it!
