Carrie didn’t lose control of her powers, she lost control of her emotions. She was in full control of her telekinesis. She chose to do that. She lost it due to the constant bullying. The pig’s blood was the last icing on the cake before she broke down.
She was also being emotionally abused at home and deprived of a normal life, that led her to imagine the students were laughing at her, exactly as her mother said they would be.
Any human who had that power could’ve done that if they had undergone the same experiences. Or rather, any human who didn’t have that ability could’ve killed those people by other methods. Arthur Fleck?
Her murders weren't a side effect of her telekinesis. It had nothing to do with her telekinesis. It was a side effect of being human. She didn’t lose control of her powers, she lost control of her emotions. If you remove the telekinesis element from the plot, and have Carrie kill prom goers with a semi-automatic rifle instead, the same message would’ve come across: her breakdown didn’t require her power; her telekinesis just instilled in her easy access to a weapon.
So…take her away from batshit crazy mother and give her a normal life, don’t throw period blood on her while laughing, don’t set her up at the prom only to humiliate her by pouring pig’s blood her, don’t kill her boyfriend, treat her with respect and kindness…and you have a pretty good person.

You missed the point of the book/movie. Carrie is barely finding out or becoming fully aware of her telekinetic powers. She thinks she can control them until all hell breaks lose and she goes nuts and kills everyone. She can only control them so much before her emotions take over and she goes in that trance where her only objective is to kill and exact revenge on everyone. If you’re her lover she might spare you but not before blasting you to the side and killing everyone else around you.

If It was something minor like you forget her anniversary, I’d give her the softie eyes and tell her I’m so sorry, and she’d give me a dirty look but otherwise be forgiving.
It’s be in the back of your mind if you cheated on her, but I’d never do that. And of course, you can’t hit her, which I wouldn’t have to worry about. Domestic abuse, you’re dead. It keeps the guy in check. Do if there’s a guy willing to be with her, it’s for the right reasons. He’s in for the long hall.
