<p dir="auto">The film IMO needs to be judged on its own terms, independent of the 1933 film.   On that level it succeeds, whereas Jackson's deliberate attempt to copycat and one-up the 1933 film was just wrong on all levels.</p>

<p dir="auto">Yes, Kong's first appearance is built up VERY well.  I actually love this movie until it moves off Skull Island.  Same with the '05 version.<br />
