Edited one came out a while later

I saw the unedited version too, which is gross
It shows Candy Clark pissing on the rug in fright when she sees the alien's true self, and in another scene, snot running out of her nose when she's crying

I also don't get it why that corporate exec was thrown out of a high rise window to his death.
That was so randumb.
Maybe that was the man who fell to earth?
And Bowie somehow ended up in that strange, dilapidated room like that.
This movie is full of too many randumb moments they don't explain.

I'll like to check out Brother from Another Planet.
Nicolas Roeg made absolutely trash films, and they are always on Criterion Collection. The only time he did well was Don't Look Now. David Bowie sucked as an actor.

The first time I watched it I didn't get what was going on.
Then I had to read the plot outline on Wiki to explain it.
Like how he was inventing all these things to try and fund a rocket to get back to help save his dying planet.
Overall I found it to be a very bizarre movie that didn't make sense.
The makers should have made it more obvious.
For me a better independent "alien lands on earth" movie is Brother from Another Planet.
