Brando was good in it (his jacket cracked me up. all the fringe heh) but it was definitely more of a Nicholson film, he had a bigger role. I felt that Nicholson should have been placed first in the opening credits instead of Brando, but at that time Brando was the bigger star.
It's a bit like Streetcar, Brando's very good in it but it's a predominantly a Vivien Leigh film.

Well I'm sure Jack didn't mind being second to a guy who was already a legend. To me, Streetcar is basically as much of Brando film as a Viv film. Without his performance, it would have been much harder to watch Streetcar I think.
My body's a cage, it's been used and abusedand ILIKE IT!!

Brando always got higher billing, remember Superman, he was billed first, Gene Hackman billed second, and Superman himself Christopher Reeves.

The fact that arguably the two greatest motion picture actors were in the same movie gives this movie a very solid reason to watch. Easily tops the Pacino/De Niro face off in Heat, at least in my opinion.

the lenght of the role does not mean anythingits what one does with the rolebrando is arguably the biggest movie star ever and he was red hot after godfather and tango, hotter than 20 years earlierso if it is brando then he leads, the rest follow
"Im just a bum sitting in a motor home on a film set, BRANDO said, and they come looking for ZEUS".

I agree crys. Nicholson was fantastic in this movie. But Brando was great too. Two great performances by two outstanding actors. This movie was a treat to see not only because it is a good movie but to see these two great actors in the same movie together.
