Apocalypse Now is one of the best and greatest films of ALL TIME!
Top 5 for sure.
And yes, John Frankenheimer's The Island of Dr Moreau is a masterpiece, a flawed masterpiece.
Marlon Brando is the man because of: On the Waterfront, Guys and Dolls, The Wild One, Julius Caesar, One-Eyed Jacks, Last Tango In Paris, Mutiny on the Bounty, Morituri, A Streetcar Named Desire, Reflections in a Golden Eye, Superman, The Freshman, The Godfather, Apocalypse Now - all classic films by any standard.

so mate - what makes u think MB dint dominate his art - from his debut in 1950 his first 6 moviesdisplayed a range which is unmatched to this date - 1953, he played a rebel biker and marc antony - i doubt anyone could displaye that range, and both those acts are classic.
yes he made his share of crappy films - who dint, but please to consider that even in those crappy films u got a glimpse of another character and not brando -tom cruise is cruise in every movie - cary grant was cary grant in every movie
just my 2 cents
