<p dir="auto">Sybil mentions that she &amp; her mother go to a store called 'Brandeis' in their hometown.<br />
Was this a real store?  I tried Google but couldn't find anything except a bookstore. Was this a bookstore?<br />

<p dir="auto">Brandies was a department store in Omaha, NE.  It started out in the 1880s as a multi story store downtown, then moved out to the 'burbs as malls became popular.  It was bought by Yonkers in the 1980s.</p>
