A re-imagining and/or remake and/or re-telling of The Fantastic Journey would be awesome if done today but only if written intelligently. If it winds up being typical Hollywood crap for people who like simple-minded nonsense, then don't even bother.

Similar show with a similar concept. Sliders was about dimension travel to various other dimensions that were all alternate, divergent parallel universes, where on the Planet Earth, something had happened that couldn't, shouldn't or wouldn't have happened but, for some reason, still did. That is only one aspect of the Fantastic Journey, as the travelers didn't just dimension travel to various other dimensions, they also traveled to various other spaces and times, too. Similar to Doctor Who. The series Sliders itself was an okay show but it eventually became a failure in science-fiction, often ultimately becoming a cliche with the writing. I just hope that if there is ever a reboot/re-imagining/remake/re-telling of the Fantastic Journey, that the creators learn from the mistakes of the original series and improve upon it. There is no reason to try to resurrect a dead franchise if that franchise is just as inept as it was when it had first debuted.

They did a remake, only they called it Sliders.
