The concept's familiar, but that was a while ago.
One bit from the show I'm thinking of involved the main characters talking to a red brain in a plexiglass globe full of water or something. It always stuck in my mind because my grandmother's roast beef often turned out the same bright red color (great woman, but an abominable cook. On the bright side, as a result my dad grew up able to eat just about anything).
Anyway, bright red talking brain in a clear globe. Sound familiar to anyone?
No, no - Pillage first,
then
burn! Stupid Vikings

Mike Road provide the voiceover for The Source in the
pilot "Vortex" and the follow-up episode "Atlantium."
Subsequently, Road provided the voiceover narration
for the series introduction: "Lost in the Bermuda
Triangle"
Mike Road's credits especially for voice-overs are
enormous. My favorite is his characterizing as
Race Bannon in "Jonny Quest."

That brain made a strong impression on me, although at the age of 7 I didn't realise it was supposed to be a brain. Its name was "The Source", as I recall.
