I always wondered why Barry, who was approximately 4 in 1977, when the movie takes place, has all toys from the 1960s in his bedroom.

The song / record being played, "There's a square in there" I remember from Sesame Street, way back in 1969 or 1970, sung by Susan (the couple Susan and Gordon)
The whole scene creepy could've been made more like Poltergeist. A soul reaper.

Well, that blushing Frankenstein is definitely from the early 60s.

I was 9-10 years old in 1977 and had some of those toys in my bedroom when I was 4. My brothers had most of the others, and they are only slightly older than me. Also, IIRC from having read the novelization of the book, Jillian was a widow. Barry's Dad had died some time prior to the events in the movie. Maybe some of Barry's toys had been passed down from an older cousin or friend, his mom was a single parent, perhaps she was struggling a bit financially.
