Does anyone else find it implausible that an obviously gay guy like Alphonso would be a molester of girl children?? This is the only thing that truly bothered me about the movie. He's an obvious old queen, sitting in his rooms listening to opera and fanning himself like a lady. If they truly wanted to make him a pedophile they needed to butch him up a bit. IMO.

I think the fact that he came across as an old queen made it all the more creepy. Alice's mother probably thought no potential harm could come to her daughter because she thought Mr. Alphonso was queer, but surprisesurprise. And that's what's so chilling: the child molester can be the person we least suspect.

There was no indication that he was a child molester. It's just what Alice said to be cruel. That man didn't look capable of having sex with anyone..He was a dirty cat lady..
