This film is much deeper than most people give it credit for. Richard harris should have gotten an award for his portrayal. The look on his face throughout the movie,,,,what can i say? I still watch the movie and get tears for the whale and him.

I watched it for the first time today and thought it was great. It was an excellent story of revenge and family devotion and the ending shocked me.

I loved it, too. Such a great story about love, loyalty, loss and how you should think carefully about what effect your actions can affect others. Noland didn't clearly think through what he was about to do and he greatly suffered for it and it caused the deaths of three innocent animals and several people.
This one of those movies that leaves me in tears well after the movie is over.

Terrible movie but it's kind of entertaining for some reason.
