That the opening scene was taken from stock footage of whales in captivity. The dorsal fins are collapsed. And the whales jumping in the sunset? That is the worst "photo shop" attempt I've ever seen in the history of any film!!!
It really just threw me off for the entire film

For the time period, I thought the effects were pretty good. I thought they did a good job.
