I remember that my friend loved the show and had a huge crush on Dana Plato. He commented that on an episode she seemed really out of it and just staring into space. That was before the stories of drug use came out.
To Love and win is the best thing. To Love and lose, the next best.

I wonder if they got away with that back then due to low def tv's which were also smaller, I can't say I ever noticed those sorts of things back then but these days I pick up a lot more details.

she didn't take the drugs because she went on the show, she would have likely taken the drugs even if she didn't go on the show..
Fact is, drug addicts are addicts who make the choice to take drugs..

She died of a drug overdose the very next day after she was on Howard Stern. I can't help but wonder if she would still be alive if she declined.

Its is very sad. I have to say that I have seen dozens of episodes and she never really looked "high" to me. She must have been a good actress because she played of that wholesome role with perfection. So sad, I felt bad when I heard that callers were straight up dogging her on Howers Stern's radion show, I heard she cried.
