A bit of an underrated Romero gem, about a boy who is convinced he is an 84-year-old vampire.

When it comes to vampire movies, I have such an extensively long list, it's mind boggling.
I've hocked this movie so many times, but this legit gave me nightmares, and that's very, very difficult to do. It's got blood and gore, it's got horror and zombies and vampires, and it's got straight out good old fashioned camp comedy.
Don't judge it too harshly on the camp trailer, as it appears goofy. There's a lot more to it. The ending is what got to me the most. THAT is the part that really felt like a sucker punch.

I hadn't rewatched it in quite a long time, and it isn't the most spoken about movie of Romero's. I'm legit surprised that it has so much love here! I was expecting maybe one reply…

When I first saw it, I didn't know what it was about, but then, (you know me!) of course, of course, I fell in absolute love. Great acting and great, novel concept especially for the time.

One of my all-time favorite films. George Romero often considered it to be his best movie.

I agree. I'm also fond of seeing Tom Savini pitch up in movies (like his cameo in
Maniac
[1980], another one of my all-time favourites). George himself made an appearance in
Martin
.

Probably George Romero's most underrated film. There's a grim plausibility to the story that makes it quite creepy and unsettling. Moreover, John Amplas is excellent as the deeply troubled Martin.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
