Something I never realized or noticed until I re-watched my copy recently…
When Supes goes back in time we see the damage of the earthquake reversing itself.
Like the dam repairing itself.
And we see the car Lois is in come back to the surface.
But the crack that the car fell into is no longer there and doesn't show up when Lois is trying to restart the car as before.
So what happened to that fissure?
Will it show up later after Lois and Jimmy are standing near the car and after Supes flies off?

Sure, but that's not important to the movie.
The important part is that he broke a Kryptonian rule because he's a human from Earth now. The rest of it is something he will figure out.

You answered my question here and could have stopped with that.
"So, the crack opened at 4PM and Superman arrived at 3:30 PM."
Which means that the fissure has yet to arrive.
Now he is either going to have to re do all his rescues. Like the school bus and the rockslides creating those dams etc.
Or else maybe this time he can stop both missiles from hitting.

Superman flew back in TIME.
So, the crack opened at 4PM and Superman arrived at 3:30 PM.
Things weren't "repairing themselves" but rather we the viewer were traveling back in time watching events in reverse.
Superman's plans were to break the code his father told him in order to save Lois.
A theme of Superman is that of the immigrant.
So, does an immigrant from Germany do everything like a German or an American? The idea of Superman is that no matter where you are from, once in America, you do things like an American.
So, Superman did what he had to do for Lois, who is not Kryptonian. He doesn't care.
