Would that small compass (or any magnetic compass) work in a submarine? I mean wouldn't all that metal throw it off?
WHAT THE HELL IS AN ALUMINUM FALCON!?!

Can't honestly say for certain if it would work or not, but the premise of Japanese submariners thinking it would help guide their wartime submarine, and then needing Slim Pickens to excrete it out so they could try it, is outrageously hilarious!

None of it really matters. I think it was just a curiosity on the part of the poster. I don't think the compass in a Cracker Jack box would work anywhere, especially on a submarine and it would be worthless for navigation. In the movie, however, the Japanese submariners thought they could use it to navigate. Trying to get it from Hollis Wood was good for a few laughs.
I'm just expressing my opinion.
You may all go to hell, and I will go to Texas.
