the original movie is by far the best ive seen.i love jackie cooper, he;s so cute and is one of those people who knowshow to act without being a tryhard!
the movie is brilliant, jackie cooper is brilliant and wallace beery is awesome in it!
one of my favourites.
on the remake.been meaning to see the entire thing (only saw 2nd half)but from what i saw original is betterjon voight did a good job though

I definitely agree with you there.
In my opinion, no child actor can top Jackie Cooper. He remains the youngest ever to be nominated for "Best Actor" he was only eight years old. I definitely encourage everyone to try and see the original "The Champ". It's a very very good movie. And probably one of the most famous movies from the early 30s.

No I havent 😞 I want to watch it but its almost impossible to find but I did see the trailer for it on tcm.com and it seems really good ! Actually in some ways better then this movie, but I am a Jon Voight fan so he was pretty good in this movie. But I dont care for Ricky S, he is sooo overrated IMO and overracts most of the time.
