Not at all. The Fly is a beautiful love story with fantastic make up and practical effects.
Altered States is underrated though with some interesting ideas on the human conscious.
Can't stop the signal.

Actually
The Fly
is overrated and pretentious. This film had big ideas and achieved them better. Very underrated gem.
