Whatever became of the Echo women from the first film? Does anyone know why the actress didn't return?

AWWYC
was release in late 1980. The first
Vacation
wasn't released until summer 1983I doubt the schedules conflicted.
That's right, I'm love's bitch, but at least I'm man enough to admit it.

She started doing the Vacation movies with Chevy Chase. Probably didn't have time for the sequel.

I have wondered the same thing. I liked her in the first movie. She is much prettier than Sandra Locke. She wasn't just a pretty face either, she was also really good at coming through when the guys needed her help, like pulling out her pistol or running down the bikers with the truck! I always have an appreciation for actresses that aren't afraid to be funny.

I met my ex-girlfriend at the horse track. Maybe that isn't the best example. But you never know where you might find romance.
I thought Orville's gal was much prettier than Philo's.

Beverly D'Angelo is the actress who played her. Never said why she didn't come back. They probably wanted both Orville and Philoe to be single when the movie started. Orville just picked Echo up off the side of the road selling veggies. It's not the stuff great romances are made from.
