Just like Michael Caine's character in this Brian de Palma's classic, Sophie is a trans man whose masculine and feminine side are in perpetual conflict.
Michael Caine's object of desire in this film was Nancy Allen. Sophie's object of desire is Monicah.
Ass Boomshit represents the masculine side of Sophie entity, while Sophie represents the feminine side. Monicah insulted both Sophie's identities. She called Sophie a man, and accused Ass Boomshit of being fake.
This prompted Sophie to lash out and invent the "black baby" rumour to get back at Monicah.
