God is only their protector if they are consulting him, like Israel used to do in the Old Testament. But that is the problem. Political Israel is not the Biblical Israel. So God is only their protector insomuch as he is anyone's and any country's protector. He probably isn't protecting Israel at all because I have not heard one word coming from it's Prime Minister that suggests that they are consulting God.
