<p dir="auto">I own this movie on DVD and have watched it numerous times. There<br />
are people asking for a full Hollywood remake and I say flat out<br />
"no way!" The script was just perfection as it was written with<br />
very solid acting by the main performers and crisp direction.<br />
I also had enlisted in the US Navy the same year of The Final<br />
Countdown's release and have always loved this film. And sadly<br />
some of the main actors, James Farentino &amp; Ron O'Neal have<br />
passed away over time. Let's just enjoy this movie for how it<br />
was done.<br />

<p dir="auto">I think it's great the way it is. My late parents loved this movie, my brother, my husband and I all love this movie. I say leave it alone.</p>
