<p dir="auto">From my observances, David Cronenberg invented this sug-genre. Every Cronenberg movie I watched (Rabid, The Fly, The Dead Zone, Scanners, etc.) had tragedy involved with them and you really feel for the those caught in the middle.<br />
Just incredible that Cronenberg was able to invent this style and so effectively.<br />

<p dir="auto">The sounds we hear as the agent is forced to shoot himself just after the head exploding and burning car scenes made me think "someone here understands depression."</p>
