Since the producers decided to not feature any Brando scenes from STM or use any Brando scenes originally filmed for S II in Lester's version, there could not be one piece of footage containing Marlon Brando. That's why Brando is completely absent from the trial at the beginning. The producers would have to pay him his full
salary for using his image. It was cheaper
to pay Susannah York.
