Just caught the episode from the second season again where Carl's brother Eddie needed a kidney transplant and Carl donated his. There was a lot of dialogue in the episode about the possibility of Carl dying and when I heard that, I couldn't help but think what would happen only a few years later with the show. Makes the dialogue a little more touching and foreshadowing, doesn't it? Of course, at the time they did the episode, they didn't know that was going to happen, of course, but it is interesting to watch it now.
Also, as I write this, today marks the 13th anniversary of the death of Nell Carter, speaking of death.

I didn't mind when Eddie was on the show as long as he didn't take out his dentures. I wonder who thought that was a good idea?? Yuck!!

Yeah, after the second season he was written out of the show and never mentioned again. I think that was more because in the third season, there were changes in writers and producers so they added some new characters (Joey and Addy) and got rid of some of the earlier characters (Eddie, Grandma, Swackhammer). Could've also been because the new people backstage didn't care for those characters so they dumped them into oblivion.

Eddie unfortunately never really lasted that long in the series. He kind of went the Chuck Cunningham direction. It's too bad I thought he was funny with all his jokes. It's quite eerie and sad that Peter "Eddie" Schrum died less than a month after Nell Carter ~RIP Nell Carter and Peter Schrum~
