Well, it was different, because his character was important to the show. Still, the 5th season wasn't terrible. The 6th and final season has moments, but I think when Julie and Jonathan leave for San Jose, that should've been the finale. Why bother to do the show in NY? We have enough shows that take place in NY anyway, and will have plenty more.

Even in the last episode he did, he did a good job. I loved it when he came down the stairs after Jonathan called up to Julie that he loved her and replied, "Doesn't any other house in Glenlawn ever order pizza?" I would have loved to see his reaction to Julie and Jonathan eloping. I would've written that he fainted dead away when he found out.

I had been watching the entire show (Season 1 to 6) and the last few episodes of season 4 are quite sad to watch the cancer getting to Dolph Sweet , the weight loss and his acting , you could tell he was in pain.Extremely sad to watch. The show was never the same without him..

They never really did say. When the chief's deupty brought his things to Nell in a box, she started to unpack it and got sad when she saw his gun. I was guessed he fell in the line of duty. Maybe she was just upset that he died.

They didn't exactly say. Dolph Sweet, who played Chief Carl Kanisky, died of cancer right before the season finale aired. I guess it was a heart attack, or maybe he was killed in a shoot out. Here's what I wish had happened: He finds out his daughter Julie eloped with Jonathan, the idiot pizza delivery boy, and fainted dead away.

Yes that is exactly what I have noticed about certain shows. I have seen back when ABC was taking over for FOX when they ran FOX Family Channel in the early 2000's. ABC Family use to air Smallville back in 2005 and 2006. ABC Family was airing the older shows from the start up until it caught up to where it was being shown on the old WB Networks. Once that happened right around 2006 or 2007 ABC Family removed Smallville. I some what wonder why they did that for? I figured that they would have been shown Smallville for the next few years up until like when the show went off the air.
I did catch in the late 90's or early 2000's the old USA Network would show Gimme A Break in reruns. I think they did that because NBC was trying to transition USA Network to how the programming is now with the crap that they show on there. I liked the old programming of USA Network prior to Barry Diller selling it off to NBC. It would have been nice if Mr. Diller would have sold it to someone who wanted to keep USA Networks programming the way it was independent for everybody elses programming. When I flip channels or look to see what is airing all I see is the same stuff over and over on USA Network. I would literally get sick of watching that and want to see new things on there instead to be honest with you.
In June I just wrote my first film script and completed it. The title of the film script is "THE POSSESSION OF INNOCENCE". I have a Facebook page under the title of "THE POSSESSION OF INNOCENCE." If you would like to see what is going on and who has been added to the cast then check it out and if you would like to help out you can. Thank you for your time, help, and support.

That happens if the show runs a certain amount of years. If it runs long enough, you can have the older ones in syndication and recent ones in prime time.

COOL That Channel 11 back in the mid 80's ran it in reruns. See that is what some channels or networks will do with some shows. They will pick them up while they are still being made during the original run.

Yes it was sad because I remember when that happened because I use to watch this when it was on NBC back during the 80's. The only time that I ever saw this on reruns was when USA Network use to show this in reruns. That has been the only network that ever showed this in reruns.
