In the trivia section, I saw this quote-
"On the DVD commentary for Excalibur (1981), he [Boorman] never refers to the late Nicholas Clay, the actor who played Lancelot, by name."
Is this respect for the deceased Clay, or did the two not get on?

Yeah, was wondering the same myself.odd thing to put in the trivia with no context.
Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

I have often wondered why Boorman never referred to Clay by name but merely spoke around him, even though he spoke frequently of other actors. Perhaps Clay was not his preferred choice for Lancelot, I don't know. But making movies is like any work place (despite the budgets that could feed small countries) - some people click real well with each other and some don't.

That is what is expected when you become an actor. Something else happened on a personal level. Maybe he pounded Igrayne fine tush and broke her heart.
George Orwell was an optimist.

Well he did make Clay have a nude scene in very cold weather. Maybe he never forgave him for that?

Yeah, nobody seems to know. Odd thing to do if you're getting on, though?

I would have said that, from the quote, there was some unresolved tension or bitterness?
