Who was more talented?
More beautiful?
More intelligent?
I think Bette Davis was one in a million. But Crawford's charismatic too.
Anybody remotely interesting is mad in some way

More talanted? Davis. More beautiful? I'd say at her best in the 20s and 30s, Joan. More intelligent it's hard for me to say. I am a fan of both, but I prefer Davis, and she managed a more steady, lasting career than Crawford did. That doesn't necessarily have anything to do with intelligence, but I'll still give Davis an edge here. She was more interesting in interviews to me too.
I do hope people remember Crawford for more than the schlocky, "Mommie Dearest." Admittedingly, I've watched it a few times, myself, but right next to IFC playing it now (and all day) on DISH, TCM is one-station down, playing "Mildred Pierce." No question, I'm watching it over MD. Easy choice, lol.
