So far the investigations, from what they have shared, are not turning up a motive.
We just may never get one.
I think a motive for getting rid of Trump, either shooting or not allowing him to win, is a couple of reasons.

1. He is a threat to the status quo by being an outsider who doesn't always play the game of corporate politics such as not starting new wars.
2. He is a liar, crook, conman who is also a racist asshole that let Covid get out of control.
   After the shooting Biden did suspend negative, attack ads towards Trump.
   You think Trump would have done that for Biden if he had gotten shot?
