<p dir="auto">Does anyone else think this may have helped inspired Robert Altman's brilliant "The Player"? This is a viciously funny attack on Hollywood and its warped values, and I can't think of a worthier victim.</p>

<p dir="auto">The spirit of these stereotypes is alive and well in Showtimes's "Episodes" which documents how the big networks destroy classic UK series to make the US version.<br />

<p dir="auto">I read that Michael and Steven Tolkin, authors of the book, based it on experiences that actually happened to them. Of course Hollywood is ripe for satire so I imagine dozens of books and films could be made on the lives of those behind the scenes.</p>
