Michael Mann is my second favorite director however after re-watching Thief I feel there are several minor pedestrian flaws against it. Not near enough to make it a bad movie, especially the ending. However, Prosky is maybe the most frightening villain of the 80's in this. Mainly because his character is so friendly, and generous to Frank in the beginning. Only to slowly become near Satanic at the end. An amazing performance.
