The programme sadly finished in 2002, 2003 because channel 4 thought it had run its time. But how did it end?..I remember all the residents left Brookside Close, but what for what reason?..Was it because the close was going to be demolished and all the residents had to be re-housed? I seem to remember everyone leaving the same time.

the Close - and probably the Parade - was going to be demolished so a waste incinerator could be built on the site.
I was surprised the council chose to demolish the Close, seeing as the street was only built in 1982 and the original characters were the first people to move in - surely there were some older sites to get rid of?
