<p dir="auto">I loved it. Sam Malone stands apart from the many other womanising lead characters in comedy shows (Hank Moody in CALIFORNICATION, the ENTOURAGE boys, Charlie in TWO AND A HALF MEN etc), and indeed in most dramas as well because of many funny, but vulnerable, moments like that.<br />
It speaks to CHEERS greatness that the writers, aware they were making a sitcom about screw ups (however likeable), always found ways to undermine the idea of Sam as some flawless stud.</p>
