<p dir="auto">That was not a ghost but a fallen spirit masquerading as the deceased sibling. Like all fallen spirits their one goal is to destroy as many humans as they could. The head of the family had a drinking problem which allowed that fallen spirit to take root into that household. That, and having no kind of religion to protect his family from the very real unseen influences.<br />

<p dir="auto">Some would say that's "just your interpretation" but as a Christian, I concur it is the only one that makes this plot plausible.<br />
Even if ghosts existed or the dead could come back, why would Jennifer want "revenge" ?<br />
And if she did, her main target ought to be the alcoholic father. But why kill them? Just haunt5 them with great remorse.<br />
The killing ways and bad counsel of this ghost  so willing to victimize and torment those who are truly sorry  indeed suggests a "fallen spirit" or demon.</p>
