This movie goes into my category of movies I can watch every 5-7 years and its like watching it for the first time. I need to buy the Blu-Ray of this as Im getting an itch to watch it again. I have a really good DVD copy. Does anyone have both (DVD & Blu-Ray) and can let me know if the Blu-Ray is noticeably better?

Thank you for the reply. The comparison link you provided was very helpful. The most recent copy I have was the special addition from 2002
. It appears they compared a HD DVD from 2007 and I could tell the difference when compared to the blur ray. I imagine the upgrade will be even more noticeable when compared to my DVD. I will say that my copy looks really good; however, not as good and detailed as the Blur-Ray shots. My DVD stood out more in the shots of the mountains and wide shots. Im getting the Blue-Ray. Thanks.

I have both, the Blu Ray definitely has sharper and clearer picture and finer detail on close ups and in the background. It won't blow you away, like say the old VHS being upgraded to DVD originally, but if you've seen the film before you should notice.
In case you need some help here is a comparison:
