Also Palmer-Thing had no idea a blood test was planned until everyone was tied to the couch. It just thought it could still pass as a human without realizing McGriddle had found out its weakness.

Nah it's a plot hole cuz MacGready explained the Things behavior to all of them. Palmer could have just jumped up right then to fight rather than sitting there quietly tied up until it was his turn.
